Culturally Safe and Connected Support
Cultural safety is defined by the person receiving support. We ask what respectful support looks like for each participant instead of assuming, and we are honest about which preferences we can meet.

What's included
- Asking each participant what cultural safety means for them, and recording it
- Worker matching by language, gender and cultural knowledge where our workforce allows
- Coordinating interpreters and accessible information
- Involving family, kin and trusted people when the participant wants that
- Trauma-informed, strengths-based practice
What's not included
- Speaking on behalf of a community, or representing cultural authority we do not hold
- Guaranteeing a worker of a specific background is available at all times
- Specialist behaviour support assessment or the implementation of restrictive practices
- Clinical, nursing or high-intensity health procedures
- Emergency, crisis or after-hours response — call 000 in an emergency
How we personalise this support
We ask rather than assume. Preferences about language, gender, family and kinship, communication style, food, Country and cultural obligations are recorded and revisited.
Who delivers this support
- NDIS Worker Screening where legally required for the role
- Induction and ongoing learning covering cultural safety and trauma-informed practice
- Access to accredited interpreters where required

Funding and costs
Prices depend on the service, time, location and staffing, in line with current NDIS pricing rules. We explain proposed rates and any travel or cancellation charges before support begins, and include agreed costs in your service agreement.
IDIM Care provides supports to eligible NDIS participants. The funding arrangements we can accept depend on the service and how your plan is managed. Contact us and we will confirm whether we can support you.
